Product Owner

Position Description

The Product Owner translates business strategy into product features, prioritizing work that maximizes value for both internal and external stakeholders. This role manages the product backlog, makes decisive prioritization decisions, and guides cross-functional teams through development cycles. The Product Owner is responsible for ensuring delivered solutions aligned with Alpine’s vision, mission, and strategy, while continuously incorporating market trends, customer feedback, and performance metrics to drive innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams to define and deliver product features that align with business goals and customer needs
  • Create and maintain well-prioritized product backlog with detailed user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Make decisive prioritization decisions based on business impact, customer value, and resource constraints
  • Participate in all sprint activities including planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Conduct and analyze customer research and competitive intelligence to inform product decisions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (executives, marketing, sales) and manage team expectations through clear communication
  • Provide regular updates on product progress, metrics, and timelines to appropriate stakeholders
  • Collaborate with QA teams to maintain quality standards for all releases
  • Use data analytics to measure product performance and drive evidence-based improvements
  • Support product launches by preparing documentation and collaborating with marketing/sales teams
  • Actively monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in product management
  • Apply innovative thinking and new knowledge to continuously improve product offerings and management processes
  • Serve as the final decision-maker to resolve conflicting priorities between stakeholders

Competencies

  • Deep understanding of product development life cycle
  • Ability to balance short-term goals with long-term strategy, delivering products that meet customer expectations and drive business results
  • Proficient in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) in a fast-paced, iterative environment
  • Ability to make difficult prioritization decisions that maximize business value
  • Strong ability to manage diverse stakeholders across organizational levels
  • Excellent communication skills tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Deep understanding of data-driven analysis to guide product decisions
  • Strong customer-centric mindset to translate user feedback into requirements
  • Ability to manage time and solve problems rapidly to maintain development momentum
  • Excellent adaptability to changing market conditions while maintaining product focus

 Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in a Product Owner or Product Management role delivering software (SaaS) solutions.
