Bio

Laura conducts in-person and virtual test development and validation workshops related to job analysis, program design, item development and review, and standard setting for clients. She has over a decade of experience in the fields of education and training, both in the public and private sectors. Laura enjoys the opportunity to work in all areas of test development, but especially enjoys training new item writers and conducting JTAs. Prior to joining Alpine, Laura lectured in anthropology at the University of Maryland Baltimore County and managed curriculum, instruction, certifications, and exams for the Falmouth Institute, a training company serving Native American Tribal organizations. She received her M.A. in Anthropology and International Development from George Washington University. She lives with her husband in Alexandria, VA.

Fun Facts

In her free time, Laura likes to collect antiques and refinish furniture. She and her husband have fostered kittens for the SPCA for several years and have found homes for more than a dozen pairs of kittens. Laura has lived in Germany and Samoa. Someday she will travel across Russia on the Trans-Siberian Railway with her father.
