Lisa O'Leary, Ph.D.

Director of IT Credentialing and Senior Psychometrician

Bio

Lisa is primarily responsible for providing consultation and advice to a variety of information technology certification testing programs on their test design, exam development process, and exam maintenance plans. She also conducts, interprets, and communicates the results of psychometric analyses based on item response theory and classical test theory, focused particularly on equating, scaling, forms assemblies, and security analyses. Most recently, Lisa has become interested in section level exam development and score reporting, differing approaches to blueprint specification development, and hybrid standard setting methodologies. She has presented at regional and national conferences and published journal articles on her current research interests, including comprehensive approaches to test security, item and exam stability over time, and exam development solutions for domains with rapidly changing content. Lisa received her Ph.D. in Educational Research, Measurement, and Evaluation from Boston College. Prior to joining Alpine Testing Solutions in 2011, she worked in higher education assessment and evaluation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and in institutional research at Tufts University.

Fun Facts

Lisa enjoys traveling as often as possible; either to explore new destinations or return to favorite sentimental spots, such as Brewster on Cape Cod.  Currently on the vacation bucket list are exotic locations such as New Zealand, Croatia, and Fiji and some closer to home, like visiting all of the states (about 10 to go!).  When not off on an adventure, Lisa spends her time catching up with her family and friends near and far, trying new recipes and restaurants, and watching as many Boston sporting events as possible in Chicago.
